As was pointed out, this isn’t a fail. It’s is standard operating procedure to leave out the letters “I” and “O” on any kind of coordinate system so as to avoid confusion. Same reason the number “5” isn’t used for countdowns involving explosives or ordinance, as it sounds too much like the word fire.

thats also missing in wot pc mostly because it could get confused with 1

Agree. Omitting letter “I” is common practice, because of possibility of confusing it with 1 or l (small L).
